A fool's mouth is his destruction, and his lips are the snare of his soul.

The wise in heart will receive commandments, but a prating fool shall fall.

He who guards his mouth keeps his life. He who opens wide his lips shall have destruction.

He who winks with the eye causes sorrow. And a prating fool shall fall.

Give opportunity to a wise man, and he will be yet wiser. Teach a righteous man, and he will increase in learning.

And he said to them, Because of this every scholar who has been instructed in the kingdom of the heavens is like a man, a house-ruler, who brings forth out of his treasure things new and old.

Again the kingdom of the heavens is like a treasure hidden in the field, which a man having found, he hid. And from the joy of it, he goes and sells all, as many things as he has, and buys that field.

The good man out of his good treasure brings forth good things, and the evil man out of his evil treasure brings forth evil things.

He who keeps his mouth and his tongue keeps his soul from troubles.

He who gets wisdom loves his own soul. He who keeps understanding shall find good.

The heart of a prudent man gets knowledge, and the ear of the wise seeks knowledge.

He who desires to separate himself seeks excuses, and rages against all sound wisdom.

that the wise man may hear, and increase in learning, and that the man of understanding may attain to sound counsels,

A prudent man conceals knowledge, but the heart of fools proclaims foolishness.

The words of a wise man's mouth are gracious, but the lips of a fool will swallow himself up.

He who has a wayward heart finds no good, and he who has a perverse tongue falls into mischief.
