and the two will be in one flesh. So then they are no more two, but one flesh.

So ought the husbands to love their own wives as their own bodies. He who loves his own wife loves himself.

Therefore a man shall leave his father and his mother, and shall cling to his wife, and the two (LXX/NT) shall be one flesh.

Or know ye not that he who is joined to a harlot is one body? For, The two, he says, will be in one flesh.

What therefore God has joined together, no man shall separate.
