Leviticus 19:17

A Conservative Version

Thou shall not hate thy brother in thy heart. Thou shall surely rebuke thy neighbor, and not bear sin because of him.

He who claims to be in the light, and hates his brother, is in the darkness until now.

Take heed to yourselves. And if thy brother should sin against thee, rebuke him, and if he repents, forgive him.

But he who hates his brother is in the darkness, and he goes about in the darkness, and knows not where he goes, because the darkness has blinded his eyes.

And brothers, if a man is overtaken in some transgression, ye the spiritual, restore such in a spirit of meekness, looking to thyself lest thou also be tempted.

And do not associate with the unfruitful works of darkness, but instead even rebuke them.

Who, knowing the righteousness of God, that those who commit such things are worthy of death, not only do them, but also favor those who do.

Reprove not a scoffer, lest he hate thee. Reprove a wise man, and he will love thee.

These things speak and exhort and rebuke with every command. Let no man disregard thee.

This testimony is true, because of which reason, reprove them harshly, so that they may be sound in the faith,

preach the word, stand ready in season, out of season, reprove, rebuke, exhort, with all longsuffering and teaching.

Lay hands hastily on no man, nor contribute to other sins. Keep thyself pure.

Those who sin, rebuke in the sight of all, so that the others may also have fear.

And ye are puffed up and did not rather mourn, so that he who committed this deed might be taken away from the midst of you.

Let a righteous man smite me, [as] a kindness. And let him reprove me, [as] oil upon the head. Let not my head refuse it. For even in their wickedness my prayer shall continue.
