Leviticus 19:14

A Conservative Version

Thou shall not curse the deaf, nor put a stumbling block before the blind, but thou shall fear thy God. I am LORD.

Cursed be he who makes the blind to wander out of the way. And all the people shall say, Amen.

Thou shall rise up before the hoary head, and honor the face of the old man, and thou shall fear thy God. I am LORD.

Respect all men. Love the brotherhood. Fear God. Respect the king.

Let us not therefore criticize each other any more, but judge ye this instead, not to place a stumbling block to the brother, or a snare.

And ye shall not wrong each other, but thou shall fear thy God, for I am LORD your God.

But I have a few things against thee, because thou have there men who adhere to the teaching of Balaam, who taught Balak to cast a snare before the sons of Israel, even to eat idol sacrifices, and to fornicate.

But the former governors who were before me charged the people, and took bread and wine from them, besides forty shekels of silver. Yes, even their servants bore rule over the people. But I did not so, because of the fear of God.

And if ye call on a Father, him who judges impartially according to each man's work, live the time of your sojourn in fear.

Bless those who persecute you. Bless ye and do not curse.

And Joseph said to them the third day, This do, and live, for I fear God:

Become ye inoffensive both to Jews and to Greeks, and to the church of God,

Ye shall do no unrighteousness in judgment. Thou shall not respect the person of the poor man, nor honor the person of the mighty man, but thou shall judge thy neighbor in righteousness.

The fear of LORD is the beginning of wisdom, and all who act accordingly have a good understanding. His praise endures forever.
