Joshua 8:1

A Conservative Version

And LORD said to Joshua, Fear not, neither be thou dismayed. Take all the people of war with thee, and arise, go up to Ai. See, I have given into thy hand the king of Ai, and his people, and his city, and his land.

Have I not commanded thee? Be strong and of good courage. Be not frightened, neither be thou dismayed, for LORD thy God is with thee wherever thou go.

Thou shall not be afraid of them. Thou shall remember well what LORD thy God did to Pharaoh, and to all Egypt:

Behold, LORD thy God has set the land before thee. Go up, take possession, as LORD, the God of thy fathers, has spoken to thee. Fear not, neither be dismayed.

And all the inhabitants of the earth are reputed as nothing, and he does according to his will in the army of heaven, and among the inhabitants of the earth. And none can stay his hand, or say to him, What are thou doing?

That thou shall be driven from men, and thy dwelling shall be with the beasts of the field. And thou shall be made to eat grass as oxen, and shall be wet with the dew of heaven. And seven times shall pass over thee till thou know t

And he changes the times and the seasons. He removes kings, and sets up kings. He gives wisdom to the wise, and knowledge to those who have understanding.

But fear thou not, O Jacob my servant, nor be dismayed, O Israel. For, lo, I will save thee from afar, and thy seed from the land of their captivity. And Jacob shall return, and shall be quiet and at ease, and none shall make him a

Behold, God is my salvation. I will trust, and will not be afraid, for LORD, [even] LORD, is my strength and song, and he has become my salvation.

So Joshua went up from Gilgal, he, and all the people of war with him, and all the mighty men of valor.

And LORD said to Joshua, Fear them not, for I have delivered them into thy hands. There shall not a man of them stand before thee.

Wail, O Heshbon, for Ai is laid waste. Cry, ye daughters of Rabbah. Gird you with sackcloth. Lament, and run to and fro among the fences. For Malcam shall go into captivity, his priests and his rulers together.

Thou shall not be frightened at them, for LORD thy God is in the midst of thee, a great God and awesome.

And they said to Joshua, Truly LORD has delivered into our hands all the land, and moreover all the inhabitants of the land melt away before us.
