A Conservative Version

Does the wild donkey bray when he has grass? Or the ox moo over his fodder?

And the wild donkeys stand on the bare heights. They pant for air like jackals. Their eyes fail because there is no herbage.

He causes the grass to grow for the cattle, and herbage for the service of man, that he may bring forth food out of the earth,

As the hart pants after the water brooks, so my soul pants after thee, O God.

She said moreover to him, We have both straw and provender enough, and room to lodge in.

Can that which has no savor be eaten without salt? Or is there any taste in the white of an egg?

Who has sent out the wild donkey free? Or who has loosed the bonds of the swift donkey

The range of the mountains is his pasture, and he searches after every green thing.
