And while they still disbelieved from joy and wondering, he said to them, Have ye anything to eat here?

Shall the trumpet be blown in a city, and the people not be afraid? Shall evil befall a city, and LORD has not done it?

My anguish, my anguish! I am pained at my very heart. My heart is disquieted in me. I cannot hold my peace, because thou have heard, O my soul, the sound of the trumpet, the alarm of war.

Shall it be told him that I would speak? Or should a man wish that he were swallowed up?

I smiled on them when they had no confidence, and they did not cast down the light of my countenance.

If I had called, and he had answered me, yet I would not believe that he hearkened to my voice.

The quiver rattles against him, the flashing spear and the javelin.

As often as the trumpet [sounds] he says, Aha! And he smells the battle afar off, the thunder of the captains, and the shouting.

I hearkened and heard, but they did not speak aright. No man repents of his wickedness, saying, What have I done? Everyone turns to his course as a horse that rushes headlong in the battle.
