Sheol is naked before [God], and Abaddon has no covering.
Sheol and Abaddon are before LORD. How much more then the hearts of the sons of men!
If I ascend up into heaven, thou are there. If I make my bed in Sheol, behold, thou are there.
Though they dig into Sheol, from there my hand shall take them, and though they climb up to heaven, from there I will bring them down.
Destruction and Death say, We have heard a rumor of it with our ears.
And there is no creature concealed from his presence, but all things are naked and vulnerable to his eyes, before whom is the word to us.
Sheol from beneath is moved for thee, to meet thee at thy coming. It stirs up the dead for thee, even all the chief ones of the earth. It has raised up from their thrones all the kings of the nations.
If I say, Surely the darkness shall overwhelm me, and the light around me shall be night,
Will thou show wonders to the dead? Shall those who are deceased arise and praise thee? Selah.
Who has first given to me, that I should repay him? Under the whole heaven is mine.
It is high as heaven; what can thou do? Deeper than Sheol; what can thou know?
Having a king over them, the agent of the abyss, whose name in Hebrew is Abaddon, but in the Greek he has the name Apollyon.
For now I should have lain down and been quiet. I should have slept. Then I would have been at rest
[He] who removes the mountains, and they do not know it when he overturns them in his anger,
For it is a fire that consumes to destruction, and would root out all my increase.
Have the gates of death been revealed to thee? Or have thou seen the gates of the shadow of death?
Sheol and Abaddon are never satisfied, and the eyes of man are never satisfied.
He reveals the deep and secret things. He knows what is in the darkness, and the light dwells with him.
