They make oil within the walls of these men. They tread [their] winepresses, and suffer thirst.

Behold the wage of the workmen who reaped your fields. The man who was defrauded by you cries out. And the outcries of those who reaped have entered into the ears of Lord of hosts.

Woe to him who builds his house by unrighteousness, and his chambers by injustice, who uses his neighbor's service without wages, and gives him not his hire,

Thou shall not muzzle the ox when he treads out [the grain].

[so that] they go about naked without clothing, and being hungry they carry the sheaves.

From out of the populous city men groan, and the soul of the wounded cries out. Yet God does not regard the folly.

Swiftly they [pass away] upon the face of the waters. Their portion is cursed in the earth. They do not turn into the way of the vineyards.

And gladness is taken away, and joy out of the fruitful field. And in the vineyards there shall be no singing nor joyful noise. No treader shall tread out wine in the presses. I have made the [vintage] shout to cease.
