Who, in the days of his flesh, having offered up both prayers and supplications with strong shouting and tears to him who was able to save him from death, and who was heard because of his reverence,

I pour out my complaint before him. I show my trouble before him.

For my love they are my adversaries, but I [make] prayer.

Surely there are mockers with me, and my eye dwells upon their provocation.

I also could speak as ye do, if your soul were in my soul's stead. I could join words together against you, and shake my head at you.

But now he has made me weary. Thou have made desolate all my company.

My face is red with weeping, and the shadow of death is on my eyelids,

that he would maintain the right of a man with God, and of a son of man with his neighbor!

My eye also is dim because of sorrow, and all my members are as a shadow.

He has put my brothers far from me, and my acquaintances are wholly estranged from me.

Remember now, O LORD, I beseech thee, how I have walked before thee in truth and with a perfect heart, and have done that which is good in thy sight. And Hezekiah wept greatly.

O that I knew where I might find him, that I might come even to his seat!
