Her cities have become a desolation, a dry land, and a desert, a land in which no man dwells, nor does any son of man pass thereby.

Because of the wrath of LORD she shall not be inhabited, but she shall be wholly desolate. Everyone who goes by Babylon shall be astonished, and hiss at all her plagues.

But LORD is the TRUE God. He is the living God, and an everlasting King. At his wrath the earth trembles, and the nations are not able to abide his indignation.

And he cried out in a mighty voice, saying, Babylon the great has fallen, has fallen, and became a habitation of demons, and a hold of every unclean spirit, and a hold of every unclean and hated bird.

The earth quakes before them. The heavens tremble. The sun and the moon are darkened, and the stars withdraw their shining.

The king of Babylon has heard the news of them, and his hands grow feeble. Anguish has taken hold of him, [and] pangs as of a woman in travail.

Those who see thee shall gaze at thee. They shall consider thee, [saying], Is this the man who made the earth to tremble, who shook kingdoms,

A sword is upon the boasters, and they shall become fools. A sword is upon her mighty men, and they shall be dismayed.

At the noise of the taking of Babylon the earth trembles, and the cry is heard among the nations.

And they shall not take from thee a stone for a corner, nor a stone for foundations, but thou shall be desolate forever, says LORD.

Prepare against her the nations, the kings of the Medes, the governors of it, and all the deputies of it, and all the land of their dominion.

The earth shall stagger like a drunken man, and shall sway to and fro like a hammock. And the transgression of it shall be heavy upon it, and it shall fall, and not rise again.

And Babylon shall become heaps, a dwelling-place for jackals, an astonishment, and a hissing, without inhabitant.
