By mercy and truth iniquity is atoned for, and by the fear of LORD men depart from evil.

A wise man fears, and departs from evil, but the fool bears himself insolently, and is confident.

The fear of LORD is to hate evil. Pride, and arrogance, and the evil way, and the perverse mouth, do I hate.

The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit. A broken and contrite heart, O God, thou will not despise.

LORD is near to those who are of a broken heart, and saves such as are of a contrite spirit.
