Isaiah 63:3

A Conservative Version

I have trodden the winepress alone, and of the peoples there was no man with me. Yea, I trod them in my anger, and trampled them in my wrath, and their lifeblood is sprinkled upon my garments, and I have stained all my raiment.

And ye shall tread down the wicked, for they shall be ashes under the soles of your feet in the day that I make, says LORD of hosts.

Then my enemy shall see it, and shame shall cover her who said to me, Where is LORD thy God? My eyes shall see [my desire] upon her. Now she shall be trodden down as the mire of the streets.

And they shall be as mighty men, treading down [their enemies] in the mire of the streets in the battle. And they shall fight, because LORD is with them, and the riders on horses shall be confounded.

LORD has trodden under foot all my mighty men in the midst of me. He has called a solemn assembly against me to crush my young men. LORD has trodden the virgin daughter of Judah as in a winepress.

And I trod down the peoples in my anger, and made them drunk in my wrath, and I poured out their lifeblood on the earth.

For it is a day of trouble, and of treading down, and of perplexity, from the Lord, LORD of hosts, in the valley of vision, a breaking down of the walls, and a crying to the mountains.

For the hand of LORD will rest on this mountain. And Moab shall be trodden down in his place, even as straw is trodden down in the water of the dunghill.

And he said, Throw her down. So they threw her down. And some of her blood was sprinkled on the wall, and on the horses. And he trampled her under foot.

Look on everyone who is proud, [and] bring him low, and tread down the wicked where they stand.

Through God we shall do valiantly, for he it is who will tread down our adversaries.

The crown of pride of the drunkards of Ephraim shall be trodden under foot.

And he put on righteousness as a breastplate, and a helmet of salvation upon his head. And he put on garments of vengeance for clothing, and was clad with zeal as a mantle.

Put ye in the sickle, for the harvest is ripe. Come, tread ye, for the winepress is full, the vats overflow. For their wickedness is great.

Binding his foal to the vine, and his donkey's colt to the choice vine, he has washed his garments in wine, and his vesture in the blood of grapes.
