I said, In the noontide of my days I shall go into the gates of Sheol. I am deprived of the residue of my years.

But we ourselves have had the sentence of death in ourselves, so that we should not be trusting in ourselves, but in God who raises the dead.

I said, O my God, take me not away in the midst of my days. Thy years are throughout all generations.

Their soul abhors all manner of food, and they draw near to the gates of death.

O remember that my life is a breath. My eye shall no more see good.

In those days Hezekiah was sick to death. And Isaiah the prophet the son of Amoz came to him, and said to him, Thus says LORD, Set thy house in order, for thou shall die, and not live.

What is my strength that I should wait? And what is my end that I should be patient?

Whatever thy hand finds to do, do with thy might, for there is no work, nor device, nor knowledge, nor wisdom, in Sheol, where thou go.

The writing of Hezekiah king of Judah when he had been sick, and was recovered of his sickness:

I went down to the bottoms of the mountains. The earth with its bars [closed] upon me forever. Yet thou have brought up my life from the pit, O LORD my God.

O love LORD, all ye his sanctified. LORD preserves the faithful, and plentifully repays him who deals proudly.

Of old thou laid the foundation of the earth, and the heavens are the work of thy hands.
