Therefore thus says LORD: Behold, I will plead thy cause, and take vengeance for thee. And I will dry up her sea, and make her fountain dry.

And I will make the rivers dry, and will sell the land into the hand of evil men. And I will make the land desolate, and all that is therein, by the hand of strangers. I, LORD, have spoken it.

And if the family of Egypt does not go up, and does not come, that there shall be the plague with which LORD will smite the nations that go not up to keep the feast of tabernacles.

And he will pass through the sea of affliction, and will smite the waves in the sea, and all the depths of the Nile shall dry up. And the pride of Assyria shall be brought down, and the scepter of Egypt shall depart.

[As] the waters fail from the sea, and the river wastes away and dries up,

For the waters of Nimrim shall be desolate, for the grass is withered away. The tender grass fails. There is no green thing.

He has stretched out his hand over the sea. He has shaken the kingdoms. LORD has given commandment concerning Canaan, to destroy the strongholds of it.

Why, when I came, was there no man? When I called, was there none to answer? Is my hand shortened at all, that it cannot redeem? Or have I no power to deliver? Behold, at my rebuke I dry up the sea. I make the rivers a wilderness.

I have dug and drunk water, and with the sole of my feet I will dry up all the rivers of Egypt.
