Howl, O gate, cry, O city. Thou are melted away, O Philistia, all of thee. For there comes a smoke out of the north, and there is no straggler in his ranks.

Then LORD said to me, Out of the north evil shall break forth upon all the inhabitants of the land.

I will go before thee, and make the rough places smooth. I will break in pieces the doors of brass, and cut apart the bars of iron.

Thus says LORD: Behold, waters rise up out of the north, and shall become an overflowing stream, and shall overflow the land and all that is therein, the city and those who dwell therein. And the men shall cry, and all the inhabita

because of the day that comes to destroy all the Philistines, to cut off from Tyre and Sidon every helper who remains. For LORD will destroy the Philistines, the remnant of the isle of Caphtor.
