But wild beasts of the desert shall lay there, and their houses shall be full of doleful creatures. And ostriches shall dwell there, and wild goats shall dance there.

Therefore the wild beasts of the desert with the wolves shall dwell there, and the ostriches shall dwell therein. And it shall no more be inhabited forever, nor shall it be dwelt in from generation to generation.

For this I will lament and wail. I will go stripped and naked. I will make a wailing like the jackals, and a lamentation like the ostriches.

And herds shall lay down in the midst of her. All the beasts of the nations, both the pelican and the porcupine shall lodge in the capitals of it. [Their] voice shall sing in the windows. Desolation shall be in the thresholds. For

and the ostrich, and the night-hawk, and the sea-gull, and the hawk after its kind,

I will also make it a possession for the porcupine, and pools of water. And I will sweep it with the broom of destruction, says LORD of hosts.

For thou have made of a city a heap, of a fortified city a ruin, a palace of strangers to be no city. It shall never be built.
