Therefore I have hewed them by the prophets. I have slain them by the words of my mouth. And thy judgments are [as] the light that goes forth.

Is not my word like fire? says LORD, and like a hammer that breaks the rock in pieces?

See, I have this day set thee over the nations and over the kingdoms, to pluck up and to break down and to destroy and to overthrow, to build and to plant.

Therefore thus says LORD, the God of hosts: Because ye speak this word, behold, I will make my words in thy mouth fire, and this people wood, and it shall devour them.

He shall not depart out of darkness. The flame shall dry up his branches, and by the breath of [God's] mouth he shall go away.

Therefore prophesy against them. Prophesy, O son of man.
