But we are persuaded better things about you, beloved, and things that have salvation, even though we speak this way.

But we are not of retreat for destruction, but of faith for the preservation of the soul.


how will we escape, having neglected so great a salvation? Which first, having taken to be spoken by the Lord, was verified for us by those who heard;

Having therefore these promises, beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from every filthiness of flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in fear of God.


Again, do ye think that we are making defense to you? In the sight of God we speak in Christ. But all things, beloved, are for your edification.


Beloved, I beseech you as aliens and sojourners, to abstain from the fleshly lusts, which war against the soul.


I write to you now this second letter, beloved, in which I arouse your sincere mind by a reminder,


Brothers, I write no new commandment to you, but an old commandment that ye had from the beginning. The old commandment is the word that ye heard from the beginning.


Beloved, making all diligence to write to you about the common salvation, I had need to write to you exhorting you to earnestly contend for the faith that was once for all delivered to the sanctified.
