Woe to the crown of pride of the drunkards of Ephraim, and to the fading flower of his glorious beauty, which is on the head of the fat valley of those who are overcome with wine!

Pride [is] before destruction, and a haughty spirit before a fall.

then I will visit their transgression with the rod, and their iniquity with stripes,

And my eye shall not spare, nor will I have pity. I will bring upon thee according to thy ways. And thine abominations shall be in the midst of thee. And ye shall know that I, LORD, do smite.

The time has come; the day draws near. Let not the buyer rejoice, nor the seller mourn, for wrath is upon all the multitude of it.

The watchman said, The morning comes, and also the night. If ye will inquire, inquire ye; turn ye back, come.

Tell them therefore, Thus says lord LORD: I will make this proverb to cease, and they shall no more use it as a proverb in Israel, but say to them, The days are at hand, and the fulfillment of every vision.

For the day is near, even the day of LORD is near. It shall be a day of clouds, a time of the nations.

Alas for the day! For the day of LORD is at hand, and it shall come as destruction from the Almighty.
