Now when he had made an end of measuring the inner house, he brought me forth by the way of the gate whose view is toward the east, and measured it round about.
Thus says lord LORD: The gate of the inner court that looks toward the east shall be shut the six working days, but on the Sabbath day it shall be opened, and on the day of the new moon it shall be opened.
Then he came to the gate which looks toward the east, and went up the steps of it. And he measured the threshold of the gate, one reed broad, and the other threshold, one reed broad.
And the cherubim lifted up their wings, and mounted up from the earth in my sight when they went forth, and the wheels beside them. And they stood at the door of the east gate of LORD's house, and the glory of the God of Israel was
And LORD said to me, This gate shall be shut. It shall not be opened, nor shall any man enter in by it, for LORD, the God of Israel, has entered in by it. Therefore it shall be shut.
