Deuteronomy 28:29

A Conservative Version

and thou shall grope at noonday, as the blind man gropes in darkness. And thou shall not prosper in thy ways. And thou shall only be oppressed and robbed always, and there shall be none to save thee.

We grope for the wall like the blind. Yea, we grope as those who have no eyes. We stumble at noonday as in the twilight. [We are] as dead men in desolate places.

Servants rule over us. There is none to deliver us out of their hand.

They grope in the dark without light, and he makes them to stagger like a drunken man.

And it yields much increase to the kings whom thou have set over us because of our sins. Also they have power over our bodies, and over our cattle, at their pleasure, and we are in great distress.

And they smote the men who were at the door of the house with blindness, both small and great, so that they wearied themselves to find the door.

And LORD said to Moses, Stretch out thy hand toward heaven, that there may be darkness over the land of Egypt, even darkness which may be felt.

LORD will smite thee with madness, and with blindness, and with confusion of mind,

For a voice of wailing is heard out of Zion, How we are ruined! We are greatly confounded, because we have forsaken the land, because they have cast down our dwellings.

They wander as blind men in the streets. They are polluted with blood, so that men cannot touch their garments.
