And he was there with LORD forty days and forty nights. He neither ate bread, nor drank water, and he wrote upon the tablets the words of the covenant, the ten commandments.

And at the end of ten days their countenances appeared finer, and they were fuller in flesh, than all the youths who ate of the king's dainties.

And mount Sinai, the whole of it, smoked, because LORD descended upon it in fire, and the smoke of it ascended as the smoke of a furnace. And the whole mount quaked greatly.

And LORD said to Aaron, Go into the wilderness to meet Moses. And he went, and met him on the mountain of God, and kissed him.

And the agent of LORD came again the second time, and touched him, and said, Arise and eat because the journey is too great for thee.

And the ravens brought him bread and flesh in the morning, and bread and flesh in the evening, and he drank of the brook.
