Lift up your staff, stretch out your hand over the sea, and divide it. Then Bnei-Yisrael will go into the midst of the sea on dry ground.


Then Adonai told Moses, “Say to Aaron: Stretch out your hand with your staff over the rivers, canals and pools, and cause frogs to come up over the land of Egypt.”


Moses answered Pharaoh, “Boast about me after I pray for you. When am I to pray for you, your servants and your people, that the frogs would be cut off from you and your houses, and remain only in the Nile?”


I will strengthen the arms of the king of Babylon, but Pharaoh’s arms will fall. So they will know that I am Adonai when I put My sword into the hand of the king of Babylon and he stretches it out against the land of Egypt.


Not a man was left in Ai or Bethel who did not go out after Israel, so they left the city open as they chased after Israel.


As soon as he stretched out his hand, the ambush arose quickly from their place, ran and entered the city and captured it; and immediately set the city on fire.


For Joshua did not draw back his hand with which he stretched out the javelin, until he had utterly destroyed all the inhabitants of Ai.


you will rise up from the ambush and take possession of the city, for Adonai your God will give it into your hand.


Meanwhile, the Philistine drew nearer and approached David, with his shield-bearer in front of him.


Then David said to the Philistine, “You are coming to me with a sword, a spear and a javelin, but I am coming to you in the Name of Adonai-Tzva’ot, God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied.


He also had bronze shin-guards on his legs and a bronze javelin slung between his shoulders.
