“Make every effort to enter through the narrow door; for many, I tell you, will try to enter and will not be able.


Let us, therefore, make every effort to enter that rest, so that no one may fall through the same pattern of disobedience.


Now Joshua sent men from Jericho to Ai, which is near Beth-aven, east of Bethel, and spoke to them saying: “Go up and spy out the land.” So the men went up and spied out Ai.


So about 3,000 men from the people went up there, but they fled before the men of Ai.


Therefore, brothers and sisters, make all the more effort to make your calling and election certain—for if you keep doing these things, you will never stumble.


Now for this very reason, making every effort, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue, knowledge;
