Joshua 24:32 - Tree of Life Version

32 Joseph’s bones, which Bnei-Yisrael had brought up from Egypt, they buried in Shechem, in the parcel of ground that Jacob had bought from the sons of Hamor the father of Shechem for 100 pieces of silver. It became the inheritance of the children of Joseph.

He purchased the portion of the field there where he had pitched his tent from the sons of Hamor, Shechem’s father, for 100 pieces of money.


Now I myself give you one portion more than your brothers, that which I took from the hand of the Amorites with my sword and my bow.”


Then Joseph said to his brothers, “I’m about to die. But God will surely take notice of you and will bring you up from this land to the land that He swore to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob.”


Then Joseph made Israel’s sons swear an oath saying, “When God takes notice of you, you will bring my bones up from here.”


Moses also took the bones of Joseph with him, for he had made Bnei-Yisrael swear an oath saying, “God will surely remember you, and then you are to carry my bones away with you.”


So He comes to a Samaritan town called Shechem, near the plot of land that Jacob gave to his son Joseph.


Jacob went down to Egypt and died, he and our fathers.


They were carried to Shechem and laid in the tomb that Abraham had bought for a sum of money from the sons of Hamor in Shechem.


By faith Joseph, when his end was near, made mention of the exodus of Bnei-Yisrael and gave instructions about his bones.
