Nevertheless, the king’s command to Joab and the army generals remained firm. So Joab and the army generals went out from the king’s presence to number the people of Israel.


May Adonai increase you more and more —you and your children.


A large population is a king’s glory, but lack of subjects is a prince’s ruin.


Then you will see and be radiant, and your heart will throb and swell with joy. For the abundance of the sea will be turned over to you. The wealth of nations will come to you.
