The carcasses of you who have grumbled against Me are going to fall in this wilderness, all of you who were registered, according to your entire number, from twenty years old and above.


But as for you, your carcasses are going to fall in this wilderness.


These are the ones registered by Mosheh and El‛azar the priest, who registered the sons of Yisra’ĕl in the desert plains of Mo’aḇ by the Yardĕn of Yeriḥo.


“Our father died in the wilderness, yet he was not in the company of those who were met together against יהוה, in company with Qoraḥ, but he died in his own sin. And he had no sons.


However, with most of them Elohim was not well pleased, for they were laid low in the wilderness.


And with whom was He grieved forty years? Was it not with those who sinned, whose corpses fell in the wilderness?


And this is why Yehoshua circumcised them: All the people who came out of Mitsrayim who were males, all the men of battle, had died in the wilderness on the way, after they had come out of Mitsrayim.
