“And why do you look at the splinter in your brother’s eye, but do not notice the plank in your own eye?


“Or how is it that you say to your brother, ‘Let me remove the splinter out of your eye,’ and see, a plank is in your own eye?


“Do not give what is set-apart to the dogs, nor throw your pearls before the pigs, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn and tear you in pieces.


Hypocrites! You know to discern the face of the heaven and of the earth, but how is it you do not discern this time?”


Then the Master answered him and said, “Hypocrite! Does not each one of you on the Sabbath loosen his ox or his donkey from the stall, and lead it away to water it?


And He said to them, “No doubt, you shall say this proverb to Me, ‘Physician, heal yourself! Whatever we have heard being done in Kephar Naḥum, do also here in Your country.’ ”


“Or how are you able to say to your brother, ‘Brother, let me take out the splinter that is in your eye,’ not seeing the plank in your own eye? Hypocrite, first take the plank out of your own eye, and then you shall see clearly to take out the splinter that is in your brother’s eye.


And the wicked spirit answering, said, “יהושע I know, and Sha’ul I know, but who are you?”
