“Is it not to share your bread with the hungry, and that you bring to your house the poor who are cast out; when you see the naked, and cover him, and not hide yourself from your own flesh?


Therefore יהוה does not rejoice over their young men, and has no compassion on their fatherless and widows; for everyone is defiled and evil, and every mouth speaks foolishness. With all this His displeasure has not turned back, and His hand is still stretched out.


“Put a shophar to your mouth, like an eagle against the House of יהוה, because they have transgressed My covenant, and they have rebelled against My Torah.


“Hypocrites! Yeshayahu rightly prophesied about you, saying,


and in the morning, ‘Stormy weather today, for the heaven is red and overcast.’ You know how to discern the face of the heaven, but you are unable to discern the signs of the times!


But knowing their wickedness, יהושע said, “Why do you try Me, you hypocrites?


And they do all their works to be seen by men, and they make their t’fillen wide and lengthen the tzitzit of their garments,


and they love the best place at feasts, and the best seats in the congregations,


and shall cut him in two and appoint him his portion with the hypocrites – there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.


For truly, I say to you, till the heaven and the earth pass away, one yod or one tittle shall by no means pass from the Torah till all be done.


“And when you fast, do not be sad-faced like the hypocrites. For they disfigure their faces so that they appear to be fasting to men. Truly, I say to you, they have their reward.


But when you do a kind deed, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing,


“And when you pray, you shall not be like the hypocrites. For they love to pray standing in the congregations and on the corners of the streets, to be seen by men. Truly, I say to you, they have their reward.


“Hypocrite! First remove the plank from your own eye, and then you shall see clearly to remove the splinter out of your brother’s eye.


and the best seats in the congregations, and the best places at feasts,


And He answering, said to them, “Well did Yeshayahu prophesy concerning you hypocrites, as it has been written, ‘This people respect Me with their lips, but their heart is far from Me.


“But give in kindness of that which is within, and see, all are clean to you.


“Woe to you Pharisees, because you love the best seats in the congregations and the greetings in the market-places.


“Sell your possessions and give in kindness. Make yourselves purses which do not grow old, a treasure in the heavens that does not fail, where no thief does come near nor moth destroys.


Hypocrites! You know to discern the face of the heaven and of the earth, but how is it you do not discern this time?”


Then the Master answered him and said, “Hypocrite! Does not each one of you on the Sabbath loosen his ox or his donkey from the stall, and lead it away to water it?


“Beware of the scribes, who like to walk in long robes, and love greetings in the market-places, and the best seats in the congregations, and the best places at feasts,


“But woe to you who are rich, because you are receiving your comfort.


“Or how are you able to say to your brother, ‘Brother, let me take out the splinter that is in your eye,’ not seeing the plank in your own eye? Hypocrite, first take the plank out of your own eye, and then you shall see clearly to take out the splinter that is in your brother’s eye.


for some were supposing, because Yehuḏah had the bag, that יהושע was saying to him, “Buy what we need for the festival,” or that he should give somewhat to the poor.


I do not receive esteem from men,”


How are you able to believe, when you are receiving esteem from one another, and the esteem that is from the only Elohim you do not seek?”


“He who speaks from himself is seeking his own esteem, but He who seeks the esteem of the One who sent Him is true, and no unrighteousness is in Him.


dedicated, and fearing Elohim with all his household, doing many kind deeds to the people, and praying to Elohim always.


and said, ‘Cornelius, your prayer has been heard, and your kind deeds were remembered before Elohim.


And looking intently at him, and becoming afraid, he said, “What is it, master?” And he said to him, “Your prayers and your kind deeds have come up for a remembrance before Elohim.


So the taught ones, each according to his ability, decided to send relief to the brothers dwelling in Yehuḏah.


“And after many years I came to bring kind deeds to my nation and offerings,


And in Yapho there was a certain taught one named Taḇitha, which means Dorkas. This woman was filled with good works and kind deeds which she did.


or he who encourages, in the encouragement; or he who is sharing, in sincerity; he who is leading, in diligence; he who shows compassion, joyously.


And if I give out all my possessions to feed the poor, and if I give my body to be burned, but do not have love, I am not profited at all.


only that we might remember the poor, which I myself was eager to do.


Let him who stole steal no more, but rather let him labour, working with his hands what is good, so that he has somewhat to share with those in need.


nor were we looking for praise from men, not from you nor from others, though we could have been a burden to you, as emissaries of Messiah.


to do good, to be rich in good works, to be generous, ready to share,


For we have much joy and encouragement in your love, because the tender affections of the set-apart ones have been refreshed by you, brother.


And do not forget to do good and to share, for with such slaughter offerings Elohim is well pleased.


If anyone speaks, let it be as the Words of Elohim. If anyone serves, let it be as with the strength which Elohim provides, so that Elohim might be praised in it all through יהושע Messiah, to whom belong the esteem and the rule forever and ever. Amĕn.


Then he said, “I have sinned. But esteem me now, please, before the elders of my people and before Yisra’ĕl, and return with me, and I shall bow myself to יהוה your Elohim.”
