The pride of man brings him low, But the humble in spirit obtains esteem.


The fear of man brings a snare, But whoever trusts in יהוה is set on high.


“And of whom have you been afraid, or feared, that you have lied and not remembered Me, nor taken it to your heart? Have I not been silent, even from of old, and you have not feared Me?


“The heart is crooked above all, and desperately sick – who shall know it?


And look, one of those with יהושע put out his hand and drew his sword, and striking the servant of the high priest he cut off his ear.


But all this came to be, so that the Scriptures of the prophets might be filled. Then all the taught ones left Him and fled.


But Kĕpha followed Him at a distance to the courtyard of the high priest, and he went in and sat with the servants to see the end.


And Kĕpha sat outside in the courtyard, and a servant girl came to him, saying, “And you were with יהושע of Galil.”


And as he was going out into the porch, another girl saw him and said to those there, “And this one was with יהושע of Natsareth.”


But he denied Him, saying, “Woman, I do not know Him.”


Good! By unbelief they were broken off, and you stand by belief. Do not be arrogant, but fear.


so that he who thinks he stands, let him take heed lest he fall.


“But as for the cowardly, and untrustworthy, and abominable, and murderers, and those who whore, and drug sorcerers, and idolaters, and all the false, their part is in the lake which burns with fire and sulphur, which is the second death.”
