21 From that time יהושע began to show to His taught ones that it was necessary for Him to go to Yerushalayim, and to suffer much from the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and to be raised again the third day.

“For as Yonah was three days and three nights in the stomach of the great fish, so shall the Son of Aḏam be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.


And Kĕpha took Him aside and began to rebuke Him, saying, “Be kind to Yourself, Master, this shall not be to You!”


Truly, I say to you, there are some standing here who shall not taste death at all until they see the Son of Aḏam coming in His reign:"


“But I say to you that Ěliyahu has already come, and they did not recognise him but did to him whatever they wished. In this way the Son of Aḏam is also about to suffer by them.


And as they were coming down from the mountain, יהושע commanded them, saying, “Do not mention the vision to anyone until the Son of Aḏam is raised from the dead.”


even as the Son of Aḏam did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life as a ransom for many.”


You know that after two days the Pĕsaḥ takes place, and the Son of Aḏam is to be delivered up to be impaled.


And while He was still speaking, see, Yehuḏah, one of the twelve, with a large crowd with swords and clubs, came from the chief priests and elders of the people.


And as He was accused by the chief priests and the elders, He answered not.


saying, “Master, we remember, while He was still alive, how that deceiver said, ‘After three days I am raised.’


“He is not here, for He was raised, as He said. Come, see the place where the Master lay.


And He began to teach them that the Son of Aḏam has to suffer much, and be rejected by the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and after three days to rise again.


And He said to them, “Ěliyahu indeed, having come first, restores all matters. And how has it been written concerning the Son of Aḏam, that He is to suffer much and be despised?


“But first He has to suffer much and be rejected by this generation.


and said to them, “Thus it has been written, and so it was necessary for the Messiah to suffer and to rise again from the dead the third day,


who having appeared in esteem, spoke of His death which He was about to complete at Yerushalayim.
