He was oppressed and He was afflicted, but He did not open His mouth. He was led as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before its shearers is silent, but He did not open His mouth.


And as He was accused by the chief priests and the elders, He answered not.


And He did not answer him, not one word, so that the governor wondered much.


“Do not give what is set-apart to the dogs, nor throw your pearls before the pigs, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn and tear you in pieces.


But יהושע still gave no answer, so that Pilate marvelled.


And He said to them, “Go, say to that fox, ‘See, I cast out demons and perform healings today and tomorrow, and the third day I shall be perfected.’


And the chief priests and the scribes stood, accusing Him intensely.


and went back into the palace, and asked יהושע, “Where are You from?” But יהושע gave him no answer.


And the passage of the Scripture which he was reading was this, “He was led as a sheep to slaughter, and like a lamb silent before its shearer, so He opened not His mouth.


who, being reviled, did not revile in return; suffering, did not threaten, but committed Himself to Him who judges righteously;
