And Dawiḏ went from there and escaped to the cave of Aḏullam. And his brothers and all his father’s house heard it, and went down to him there.


And the Philistines had gathered their armies for battle, and came together at Soḵoh, which belongs to Yehuḏah, and encamped between Soḵoh and Azĕqah, in Ephes Dammim.


And Aḏoni-Tseḏeq sovereign of Yerushalayim sent to Hoham sovereign of Ḥeḇron, and to Piram sovereign of Yarmuth, and to Yaphiya sovereign of Laḵish, and to Deḇir sovereign of Eḡlon, saying,


Again I shall bring a dispossessor to you, O inhabitant of Marĕshah. The esteem of Yisra’ĕl shall come to Aḏullam.


and in Ěn Rimmon, and in Tsorah, and in Yarmuth,


And his wife Yehuḏiyah bore Yereḏ the father of Geḏor, and Ḥeḇer the father of Soḵo, and Yequthi’ĕl the father of Zanowaḥ. And these were the sons of Bithyah the daughter of Pharaoh, whom Mereḏ took.


And in the mountain country: Shamur, and Yattir, and Soḵoh,


the sovereign of Liḇnah, one; the sovereign of Aḏullam, one;


the sovereign of Yarmuth, one; the sovereign of Laḵish, one;


And they did so, and brought those five sovereigns to him from the cave: the sovereign of Yerushalayim, the sovereign of Ḥeḇron, the sovereign of Yarmuth, the sovereign of Laḵish, the sovereign of Eḡlon.


And יהוה threw them into confusion before Yisra’ĕl, and they struck them with a great slaughter at Giḇ‛on, and pursued them along the way that goes to Bĕyth Ḥoron, and struck them as far as Azĕqah and Maqqĕḏah.


And at that time it came to be that Yehuḏah left his brothers, and turned aside to a man, an Aḏullamite whose name was Ḥirah.


and Zanowaḥ, and Ěn Gannim, Tappuwaḥ and Ěnam,


and Sha‛arayim, and Aḏithayim, and Geḏĕrah, and Geḏĕrothayim – fourteen cities with their villages.


Ben-Ḥeseḏ in Arubboth, Soḵoh and all the land of Ḥĕpher were his;


and Bĕyth Tsur, and Soḵo, and Aḏullam,


and Aḏorayim, and Laḵish, and Azĕqah,
