and said, “יהוה, if I have now found favour in Your eyes, please do not pass Your servant by.


And the two messengers came to Seḏom in the evening, and Lot was sitting in the gate of Seḏom. And when Lot saw them, he rose up to meet them, and he bowed himself with his face toward the ground,

So Aḇraham rose and bowed himself to the people of the land, the sons of Ḥĕth.


And Yitsḥaq went out to meditate in the field in the evening. And he lifted his eyes and looked and saw the camels coming.

And Yosĕph was the governor over the land, he was the one who sold to all the people of the land. And Yosĕph’s brothers came and bowed down before him with their faces to the earth.

And they said, “Your servant our father is in good health, he is still alive.” And they bowed their heads down and did obeisance.


And Yehuḏah and his brothers came to Yosĕph’s house, and he was still there. And they fell before him on the ground.


So Yosĕph brought them from between his knees, and he bowed down with his face to the earth.


And when the sons of the prophets who were from Yeriḥo saw him, they said, “The spirit of Ěliyahu rests on Elisha.” And they came to meet him, and bowed to the ground before him.


imparting to the needs of the set-apart ones, pursuing kindness towards strangers.


Do not forget to receive strangers, for by so doing some have unwittingly entertained messengers.


And it came to be, when Yehoshua was by Yeriḥo, that he lifted his eyes and looked and saw a Man standing opposite him with His sword drawn in His hand. And Yehoshua went to Him and said to Him, “Are You for us or for our adversaries?”


Welcome one another without grumbling.


And a Messenger of יהוה appeared to the woman and said to her, “See now, you are barren and have not borne, but you shall conceive, and you shall bear a son.


And she fell on her face, bowed down to the ground, and said to him, “Why have I found favour in your eyes, that you should take notice of me, seeing I am a foreigner?”
