And they had no child, because Elisheḇa was barren, and both were advanced in years.


This is allegorical, for these are the two covenants: one indeed from Mount Sinai which brings forth slavery, which is Haḡar,


And there was a certain man from Tsor‛ah, of the clan of the Danites, whose name was Manowaḥ. And his wife was barren and had not borne.


but, although he loved Ḥannah, he gave only one portion to Ḥannah, because יהוה had shut up her womb.
