And the letters were sent by the runners into all the sovereign’s provinces, to cut off, to kill, and to destroy all the Yehuḏim, both young and old, little children and women, in one day, on the thirteenth day of the twelfth new moon, which is the new moon of Aḏar, and to plunder their possessions.


And יהוה spoke to Mosheh and to Aharon in the land of Mitsrayim, saying,


Many are the plans in a man’s heart, But it is the counsel of יהוה that stands.


Do not boast of tomorrow, For you do not know what a day brings forth.


Who was it that spoke, And it came to be! Has יהוה not commanded it?


“Then they shall deliver you up to affliction and kill you, and you shall be hated by all nations for My Name’s sake.


But they said, “Not at the festival lest there be an uproar among the people.”


Now the Pĕsaḥ and the Festival of Matzot was after two days. And the chief priests and the scribes were seeking how to take Him through treachery and put Him to death.


“But before all this, they shall lay their hands on you and persecute you, delivering you up to the congregations and prisons, being brought before sovereigns and rulers for My Name’s sake.


And he said to Him, “Master, I am prepared to go with You, both to prison and to death.”


Then the soldiers, when they had impaled יהושע, took His outer garments and made four parts, to each soldier a part, and the inner garment. But the inner garment was without seam, woven from the top in one piece.


Truly, truly, I say to you, when you were younger you girded yourself and walked where you wished, but when you are old you shall stretch out your hands, and another shall gird you and bring you where you do not wish.”


And seeing that it was pleasing to the Yehuḏim, he proceeded further to arrest Kĕpha as well – and they were the Days of Unleavened Bread.


So Kĕpha was indeed kept in prison, but prayer was earnestly made to Elohim on his behalf by the assembly.


to do whatever Your hand and Your purpose decided before to be done.


And they arrested them, and put them in jail until the next day, for it was already evening.


and seized the emissaries and put them in the public jail.


But Sha’ul was ravaging the assembly, entering every house, and dragging off men and women, putting them in prison.
