And they rose early in the morning and went out into the Wilderness of Teqowa. And as they went out, Yehoshaphat stood and said, “Hear me, O Yehuḏah and you inhabitants of Yerushalayim: Trust in יהוה your Elohim and be steadfast, trust His prophets and prosper.”


After him the Teqowites strengthened another section, opposite the great projecting tower, and as far as the wall of Ophel.


And at their hand the Teqowites strengthened, but their nobles did not put their shoulders to the work of their Master.


And wine that makes glad the heart of man, Oil to make the face shine, And bread which sustains man’s heart.


Let your garments be white at all times, and let your head lack no oil.


“O children of Binyamin, gather yourselves to flee out of the midst of Yerushalayim! Blow a shophar in Teqowa, and set up a signal-fire in Bĕyth Hakkerem, for evil has been seen from the north, and great destruction.


The words of Amos, who was among the herdsmen of Teqowa, which he saw concerning Yisra’ĕl in the days of Uzziyah sovereign of Yehuḏah, and in the days of Yaroḇ‛am son of Yo’ash, sovereign of Yisra’ĕl, two years before the earthquake.


But you, when you fast, anoint your head and wash your face,


“And, you shall bathe and anoint yourself, and put your garments on and go down to the threshing-floor. Do not make yourself known to the man until he has finished eating and drinking.
