1 And Na‛aman, commander of the army of the sovereign of Aram, was a great man in the eyes of his master, and highly respected, because by him יהוה had given deliverance to Aram. And he was a brave man, but leprous.

“Let it rest on the head of Yo’aḇ and on all his father’s house. And let there never fail to be in the house of Yo’aḇ one who has a discharge or is a leper, or who is taking hold of a staff or falls by the sword, or who lacks bread.”


And it came to be on a day that Elisha went to Shunĕm, where there was a prominent woman, and she took hold of him to eat some food. And it came to be, as often as he passed by, that he turned in there to eat some food.


And the Arameans had gone out on raids, and had brought back captive a young girl from the land of Yisra’ĕl, and she served the wife of Na‛aman.


“So let the leprosy of Na‛aman cling to you and your descendants forever.” And he went out from him as leprous as snow.


And there were four leprous men at the entrance of the gate. And they said to each other, “Why are we sitting here until we are dead?


For Mordeḵai the Yehuḏi was second to Sovereign Aḥashwĕrosh, and great among the Yehuḏim and pleasing to his many brothers, seeking the good of his people and speaking peace to all his seed.


For Mordeḵai was great in the palace of the sovereign, and his report spread into all the provinces, for this man Mordeḵai became greater and greater.


And יהוה gave the people favour in the eyes of the Mitsrites. And the man Mosheh was very great in the land of Mitsrayim, in the eyes of Pharaoh’s servants and in the eyes of the people.


The horse is prepared for the day of battle, But the deliverance is of יהוה.


“And many lepers were in Yisra’ĕl in the time of Elisha the prophet, and none of them was cleansed except Na‛aman the Aramean.”


יהושע answered, “You would possess no authority against Me if it were not given you from above. Because of this, he who delivered Me to you has greater sin.”


For I shall not presume to speak of any matter except what Messiah has worked out through me, in word and deed, to make the nations obedient,


And to keep me from exalting myself because of the exceeding greatness of the revelations, a thorn in the flesh was given to me, a messenger of Satan to hit me, to keep me from exalting myself.


“Only you did not go near the land of the children of Ammon – anywhere along the wadi Yabboq, or to the cities of the mountains, or anywhere as יהוה our Elohim commanded us.
