25 “If one man sins against another, Elohim shall judge him. But if a man sins against יהוה, who shall pray for him?” But they did not listen to the voice of their father, though יהוה was pleased to put them to death.

But what he did displeased יהוה, so He took his life too.


But Ěr, Yehuḏah’s first-born, was evil in the eyes of יהוה, and יהוה took his life.


“If anyone sins against his neighbour, and he has lifted up an oath on him, to cause him to swear, and comes and swears before Your slaughter-place in this House,


then hear in the heavens, and act and rightly rule Your servants, declaring the wrongdoer wrong, bringing his way on his head, and declaring the righteous right by giving him according to his righteousness.


So the sovereign did not listen to the people, for the turn of events was from Elohim, in order for יהוה to establish His word, which He had spoken by the hand of Aḥiyahu the Shilonite to Yaroḇ‛am son of Neḇat.


And it came to be, as he talked with him, that the sovereign said to him, “Have we appointed you counsellor to the sovereign? Stop! Why should they strike you?” Then the prophet stopped and said, “I know that Elohim has counselled to destroy you, because you have done this and have not listened to my counsel.”


There is no mediator between us, to lay his hand upon us both.


For You do not desire slaughtering, or I would give it; You do not delight in ascending offering.


Against You, You alone, have I sinned, And done evil in Your eyes; That You might be proven right in Your words; Be clear when You judge.


A wise son accepts his father’s discipline, But a scoffer shall not listen to rebuke.


Discipline is grievous to him who forsakes the way; He who hates reproof dies.


One often reproved, hardening his neck, Is suddenly broken, and there is no healing.


a time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up;


But the being who does whatever defiantly, whether he is native or a stranger, he reviles יהוה, and that being shall be cut off from among his people.


Do not show partiality in right-ruling, hear the small as well as the great. Do not be afraid of anyone’s face, for the right-ruling belongs to Elohim. And the case which is too hard for you, bring it to me, and I shall hear it.’


“But Siḥon sovereign of Ḥeshbon would not let us pass over, for יהוה your Elohim hardened his spirit and strengthened his heart, to give him into your hand, as it is this day.


For there is one Elohim, and one Mediator between Elohim and men, the Man Messiah יהושע,


For if we sin purposely after we have received the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a slaughter offering for sins,


but some fearsome anticipation of judgment, and a fierce fire which is about to consume the opponents.


Therefore He is also able to save completely those who draw near to Elohim through Him, ever living to make intercession for them.


For it was of יהוה to strengthen their hearts, that they should come against Yisra’ĕl in battle, in order to put them under the ban, so that they might have no favour, but that He might annihilate them, as יהוה had commanded Mosheh.


“And therefore I have sworn to the house of Ěli that the crookedness of the house of Ěli shall never be atoned for, by slaughtering or grain offering.”
