7 But יהוה said to Shemu’ĕl, “Do not look at his appearance or at the height of his stature, because I have refused him, for not as man sees, for man looks at the eyes, but יהוה looks at the heart.”

then hear in the heavens, Your dwelling place, and forgive, and act, and render unto everyone according to all his ways, whose heart You know. Because You – You alone – know the hearts of all the sons of men,


“What more could Dawiḏ add to You for the esteem of Your servant? For You know Your servant.


“As for you, my son Shelomoh, know the Elohim of your father, and serve Him with a perfect heart and with a pleasing life, for יהוה searches all hearts and understands all the intent of the thoughts. If you do seek Him, He is found by you; but if you forsake Him, He rejects you forever.


“For the eyes of יהוה diligently search throughout all the earth, to show Himself to be strong on behalf of those whose heart is perfect to Him. You have acted foolishly in this, so from now on you shall have battles.”


then hear from the heavens Your dwelling place, and forgive, and give to everyone according to all his ways, whose heart You know – for You alone know the hearts of the sons of men –


Do You have eyes of flesh? Do You see as man sees?


Look to the heavens, and see. And consider the clouds which are higher than you.


You know my sitting down and my rising up; You understand my thought from afar.


Please let the evil of the wrong be ended, And establish the righteous; For the righteous Elohim is a trier of hearts and kidneys.


She’ol and destruction are before יהוה, How much more the hearts of the sons of men.


All the ways of a man are clean in his own eyes, But יהוה weighs the spirits.


If you say, “See, we did not know this,” Would not He who weighs the hearts discern it? He who watches over your life, Would He not know it? And shall He not repay man according to his work?


Loveliness is deceptive And prettiness is vain, A woman who fears יהוה is to be praised.


But, O יהוה of hosts, who judges righteously, who tries kidneys and heart, let me see Your vengeance upon them, for unto You I have revealed my cause.


“I, יהוה, search the heart, I try the kidneys, and give every man according to his ways, according to the fruit of his deeds.


But, O יהוה of hosts, trying the righteous, and seeing the kidneys and heart, let me see Your vengeance on them, for I have revealed my cause to You.


so He said to them, “You are those who declare yourselves righteous before men, but Elohim knows your hearts, because what is highly thought of among men is an abomination in the sight of Elohim.


Do not judge according to appearance, but judge with righteous judgment.


“You judge according to the flesh, I judge no one.


And praying they said, “You, יהוה, who know the hearts of all, show which one of these two You have chosen


Because they say, “His letters are truly weighty and strong, but his bodily presence is weak, and his speech amounts to naught.”


Take a look at what you are facing. If anyone seems to trust in himself that he is of Messiah, let him reckon again for himself, that as he is of Messiah, so also are we.


And there is no creature hidden from His sight, but all are naked and laid bare before the eyes of Him with whom is our account.


Drawing near to Him, a living Stone – rejected indeed by men, but chosen by Elohim and precious –


but the hidden man of the heart, with the incorruptible ornament of a meek and peaceable spirit, which is of great value before Elohim.


“And I shall slay her children with death. And all the assemblies shall know that I am the One searching the kidneys and hearts. And I shall give to each one of you according to your works.


“Do not multiply words so proudly, proudly; let no arrogance come from your mouth, for יהוה is an Ěl of knowledge, and by Him deeds are weighed.


And he had a son whose name was Sha’ul, young and handsome. And there was not a more handsome man than he among the children of Yisra’ĕl, taller than any of the people by the shoulders and upwards.
