Ruth 1:16 - The Scriptures 1998

16 But Ruth said, “Do not urge me to leave you, or to go back from following after you. For wherever you go, I go; and wherever you stop over, I stop over. Your people is my people, and your Elohim is my Elohim.

Listen, O daughter, and see, And incline your ear, And forget your own people and your father’s house;


A friend loves at all times, And a brother is born for adversity.


Because יהוה  has compassion on Yaʽ


The sovereign answered Dani’ĕ


“Therefore I make a decree that whoever of any people, nation, or language who speaks any wrong against the Elah of Shaḏ


“But I am יהוה  your Elohim since the land of Mitsrayim, and an Elohim besides Me you shall not know, for there is no Saviour besides Me.


“Thus said יהוה  of hosts, ‘In those days ten men from all languages of the nations take hold, yea, they shall take hold of the edge of the garment of a man, a Yehuḏ


And a certain scribe, having come near, said to Him, “Teacher, I shall follow You wherever You go.”


And Sha’ul answered, “What do you mean by weeping and breaking my heart? For I am ready not only to be bound, but also to die at Yerushalayim for the Name of the Master יהושע.”


For they themselves report what kind of reception we had with you, and how you turned to Elohim from idols, to serve the living and true Elohim,


“And יהוה  drove out from before us all the people, even the Amorites who dwelt in the land. We too serve יהוה, for He is our Elohim.”


They are those who were not defiled with women, for they are maidens. They are those following the Lamb wherever He leads them on. They were redeemed from among men, being first-fruits to Elohim and to the Lamb.


And she said, “Look, your sister-in-law has gone back to her people and to her mighty ones. Go back, follow your sister-in-law.”


“Where you die, I die, and there I shall be buried. יהוה  do so to me, and more also – for death itself parts you and me.”


So the servant who was appointed over the reapers answered and said, “It is the young Mo’aḇ


“And he shall be to you a restorer of life and a sustainer of your old age. For your daughter-in-law, who loves you, who is better to you than seven sons, has borne him.”
