Most men proclaim each his own kindness, But who finds a trustworthy man?


It is not good to eat much honey. Is it esteem to seek one’s own esteem?


A stone is heavy and sand is weighty, But a fool’s wrath is heavier than both.


For we do not presume to count ourselves or compare ourselves with those who commend themselves. But they, measuring themselves by themselves, and comparing themselves among themselves, are not wise.


For not he who commends himself is approved, but he whom the Master commends.


I have become a fool – you have compelled me. For I should have been commended by you, for in no respect was I behind the most eminent emissaries, though I am a nobody.
