You shall eat the labour of your hands. Be blessed, and let it be well with you.


Treasures of wrongness are of no value, But righteousness delivers from death.


By pride comes only strife, But wisdom is with those who take advice.


Expectancy drawn out makes the heart sick, But a longing come true is a tree of life.


An inheritance obtained with greed at the beginning Is not blessed at the end.


Gaining treasures by a lying tongue Is a fleeting vapour, heading for death.


A man of truth has many blessings, But one in a hurry to be rich does not go unpunished.


A man with an evil eye runs after wealth, And does not know that poverty awaits him.


He who increases his possessions by interest and profit Gathers it for him who shows favour to the poor.


But those riches perish through evil use. And he brings forth a son, and there is naught in his hand.


“As a partridge that broods but does not hatch, so is he who gets riches, but not by right. It leaves him in the midst of his days, and at his end he is a fool.”
