Common English Bible

40 just as the LORD instructed him through Moses. This was a reminder for the Israelites that no outsider who isn’t one of Aaron’s descendants should approach to burn incense in the LORD’s presence, so as not to be like Korah and his community.

These sought their register among those who were counted by genealogy, but they were not found, so they were barred from the priesthood as defiled.


O house of Aharon, trust in יהוה ; He is their help and their shield.


“And the room facing north is for the priests who guard the duty of the altar, they are the sons of Tsaḏ


‘And you shall give a young bull for a sin offering to the priests, the Lĕ


‘And no stranger eats the set-apart offering. A sojourner with the priest, or a hired servant, does not eat the set-apart offering.


“And when the Dwelling Place is to go forward, the Lĕ


“And appoint Aharon and his sons, and they shall guard their priesthood. And the stranger who comes near shall be put to death.”


And those who were to camp before the Dwelling Place on the east, before the Tent of Meeting, were Mosheh and Aharon, and his sons, guarding the duty of the set-apart place, and the duty of the children of Yisra’ĕ


And no one obtains this esteem for himself, but he who is called by Elohim, even as Aharon also was.


“Then you shall answer them that the waters of the Yardĕ


Woe to them! Because they have gone in the way of Qayin, and gave themselves to the delusion of Bilʽ
