“And see, the entire clan has risen up against your female servant and said, ‘Give him who smote his brother, so that we put him to death for the life of his brother whom he killed, and destroy the heir also.’ Thus they would extinguish my burning coal that is left, and leave to my husband neither name nor remnant on the earth.”


And she said, “As יהוה  your Elohim lives, I do not have bread, only a handful of flour in a bin, and a little oil in a jar. And see, I am gathering a couple of sticks and shall go in and prepare it for myself and my son, and we shall eat it, and die.”


“Rise up, go to Tsarephath, which belongs to Tsiḏ


And he said, “About this time next year you shall embrace a son.” And she said, “No, my master, man of Elohim, do not lie to your female servant!”


So he took him and brought him to his mother, and he sat on her knees till noon, and died.


The blessing of the perishing one would come upon me, and I made the widow’s heart sing for joy.

And it came to be the next day, that He went into a city called Naʽ


And when the Master saw her, He had compassion on her and said to her, “Do not weep.”


because he had an only daughter about twelve years of age, and she was dying. And as He went, the crowds thronged upon Him.


And they were all weeping and mourning for her, and He said, “Do not weep, she is not dead, but sleeps.”


And giving her his hand, he lifted her up. And calling the set-apart ones and widows, he presented her alive.


Clean and undefiled religion before the Elohim and Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their affliction, and to keep oneself unstained from the world.
