Leviticus 5:4 - The Scriptures 1998

4 ‘Or when a being swears, speaking rashly with his lips to do evil or to do good, whatever it is that a man swears rashly with an oath, and it has been hidden from him, when he shall know it, then he shall be guilty of one of these.

And he swore to her, “Whatever you ask me, I shall give you, up to half of my reign.”

And the men said to her, “Our lives for yours, if you do not expose this matter of ours, then it shall be, when יהוה  has given us the land, that we shall treat you in kindness and truth.”


And Yehoshua made peace with them, and made a covenant with them to let them live, and the rulers of the congregation swore to them.


then it shall be that whatever comes out of the doors of my house to meet me, when I return in peace from the children of Ammon, shall belong to יהוה, and I shall offer it up as a burnt offering.”


“But we are unable to give them wives from our daughters, for the children of Yisra’ĕ


“What do we do for wives for those who remain, seeing we have sworn by יהוה  not to give them our daughters as wives?”


if then you have acted in truth and integrity with Yerubbaʽ


And she made a vow and said, “O יהוה  of hosts, if You would indeed look on the affliction of your female servant and remember me, and not forget your female servant, but shall give your female servant a male child, then I shall give him to יהוה  all the days of his life, and let no razor come upon his head.”
