16 But at that moment the water of the Jordan coming downstream stood still. It rose up as a single heap very far off, just below Adam, which is the city next to Zarethan. The water going down to the desert sea (that is, the Dead Sea) was cut off completely. The people crossed opposite Jericho.

16 the descending waters stood still in one place, and, swelling up like a mountain, they were seen from far away, from the city that is called Adam, even as far as the place of Zarethan. But those that were lower ran down into the Sea of the Wilderness, (which is now called the Dead Sea,) until they entirely passed away.

The sovereign had them cast in clay in the district of Yardĕ


The sea saw it and fled; The Yardĕ


Why was it, O sea, that you fled? O Yardĕ


יהוה  sat enthroned at the Flood, And יהוה  sits as Sovereign forever.


Gathering the waters of the sea together as a heap; Laying up the deep in storehouses.


He has turned the sea into dry land, They went through the river on foot. There we rejoiced in Him,


You did cleave open the fountain and the flood, You did dry up mighty rivers.


Your way was in the sea, And Your path in the great waters, And Your footsteps were not known.


He split the sea and caused them to pass through, And He made the waters stand up like a heap,


And Mosheh stretched out his hand over the sea. And יהוה  caused the sea to go back by a strong east wind all that night, and made the sea into dry land, and the waters were divided.

“And with the wind of Your nostrils the waters were heaped up, the floods stood like a wall, the depths became stiff in the heart of the sea.


“When I came, why was there no one? When I called, why was there no one to answer? Was My hand too short to redeem? Or have I no power to deliver? See, by My rebuke I dry up the sea, I make the rivers a wilderness; their fish stink for there is not water, and die of thirst.


And he said to me, “These waters are flowing toward the eastern country, and go down into the Araḇ


He is rebuking the sea and dries it up. And all the floods He has made dry, Bashan and Karmel are withering, and the flower of Leḇ


Shall יהוה  burn against the rivers? Is Your displeasure against the rivers, Is Your wrath against the sea, That You ride on Your horses, Your chariots of deliverance?


‘Then your southern border shall be from the Wilderness of Tsin along the border of Eḏ


These are the words which Mosheh spoke to all Yisra’ĕ


and the desert plain, with the Yardĕ


and the desert plain from the Sea of Kinneroth eastward as far as the Sea of the Araḇ


And their southern border began at the edge of the Salt Sea, from the bay that faces southward.


“And it shall be, as soon as the soles of the feet of the priests who bear the ark of יהוה, the Master of all the earth, come to rest in the waters of the Yardĕ


then you shall let your children know, saying, ‘Yisra’ĕ


And it came to be, when all the sovereigns of the Amorites who were beyond the Yardĕ


and the three hundred blew the ram’s horns, and יהוה  set the sword of each one against the other throughout all the camp. And the army fled to Bĕ
