Is there a matter of which it is said, “See, this is new”? It was here already, long ago.


For there is no more lasting remembrance of the wise than of the fool, since in the days to come all is forgotten. And how does a wise man die? With the fool!


And so I saw the wrong ones buried, and they came and went from the place of set-apartness, and they were forgotten in the city where they had so done. That too is futile.


For the living know that they shall die, but the dead know naught, nor do they have any more reward, for their remembrance is forgotten.


“See, the former predictions have come, and new ones I am declaring; before they spring forth I let you hear them.”
