And they said, “Come, let us build ourselves a city, and a tower whose top is in the heavens, and make a name for ourselves, lest we be scattered over all the face of the earth.”


And when the people saw that Mosheh was so long in coming down from the mountain, the people gathered together to Aharon, and said to him, “Arise, make us mighty ones who go before us. For this Mosheh, the man who brought us up out of the land of Mitsrayim, we do not know what has become of him.”


“The tree became great and strong, and its height reached to the heavens, and it was visible to the ends of all the earth.


“Yet I destroyed the Amorite before them, whose height was like the height of the cedars. And he was as strong as the oaks, yet I destroyed his fruit from above and his roots from beneath.


And they went up through the South and came to Ḥ


“Speak to the children of Yisra’ĕ


‘Where are we going to? Our brothers have made our hearts melt, saying, “The people are greater and taller than we, the cities are great and walled up to the heavens, and we saw the sons of the Anaqim there too.” ’


then יהוה  shall drive out all these nations before you, and you shall dispossess greater and stronger nations than you.


‘For you are passing over the Yardĕ


“And it shall be, on the day when you pass over the Yardĕ


“And I commanded you at that time, saying, ‘יהוה  your Elohim has given you this land to possess. All you sons of might, pass over armed before your brothers, the children of Yisra’ĕ


to drive out from before you nations greater and stronger than you, to bring you in, to give you their land as an inheritance, as it is today.


“And it shall be, when יהוה  your Elohim brings you into the land of which He swore to your fathers, to Aḇ


“When יהוה  your Elohim brings you into the land which you go to possess, He shall also clear away many nations before you: the Ḥ


“Pass through the midst of the camp and command the people, saying, ‘Prepare food for yourselves, for within three days you are passing over this Yardĕ


until יהוה  has given your brothers rest, as unto you. So shall they also take possession of the land which יהוה  your Elohim is giving them. Then you shall return to the land of your possession, and shall possess that which Mosheh the servant of יהוה  gave you beyond the Yardĕ


“And now, give me this mountain of which יהוה  spoke in that day, for you heard in that day how the Anaqim were there, and that the cities were great and walled. If יהוה  is with me, then I shall dispossess them, as יהוה  said.”


And it came to be, when the people set out from their tents to pass over the Yardĕ


that the waters which came down from upstream stood still, and rose in a heap very far away at Aḏ


And Yehoshua spoke to the priests, saying, “Take up the ark of the covenant and pass over before the people.” So they took up the ark of the covenant and went before the people.


And the people came up from the Yardĕ


and Yehoshua said to them, “Pass over before the ark of יהוה  your Elohim into the midst of the Yardĕ
